Value Added Services (VAS) are additional service that indirectly related to the logistic core activities. These services can be found in various ways but will increase the overall quality of the total service. Some examples are:

Automated systems

Orders can be dropped by manual input or by the use of EDI. Large volumes (regular process) are mostly used by EDI. Manual orders offers the possibility to adjust uprising demands. This creates flexibility where it is needed most.

Barcode/2D code scanning

All transport modules are provided with unique codes to have full control over the process and increase the overall performance. These unique codes have physical scannable labels in the form of barcodes or 2D codes. In every part in the process these are scanned for validation and provides data that can be used for business purposes.
